Description : A black and white photograph printed on glossy paper showing the full length of a Pacific Western 387 jet with two trucks behind it. There is a blue stamp on the back of the photograph that reads 'Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd. Sheridan Park Date July 21 1980 Photo No. 3 Proj. No. 86-31110'.
Fonctions : Photograph kept by James Herbert Scott who worked at Atomic Energy of Canada and most likely involved the transport of a CANDU 6 reactor to Argentina.;;James Herbert Scott (1923-2012) started his engineering career in Canada working for Avro Canada as a test engineer and led the design team for Orenda test facility in Malton which was built in 1954. After the Diefenbaker Government cancelled the development of the CF-105 Avro Arrow, Bert was offered a job at NASA in the space program but declined. He joined Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL) and began work with them in the Nuclear Power Plant Division in the Sheridan Park Research Centre in Mississauga. He worked in the Development Laboratory and later transferred to Procurement before retiring in 1988. He was involved in a variety of shipments of reactors worldwide.;;Atomic Energy of Canada formed as a Crown corporation from a variety of organizations that date to the early 1940s. In 1974 AECL made its first international sale to Argentina of a single unit CANDU 6 reactor which was derived from the multi-unit Pickering station (est. 1973).
