Fonctions : | Papers were from school work done by either Annie or Naomi Harris.Annie Louise Harris Sayers (1882-1986) and Naomi Maud Harris (1883-1968) were daughters of Arthur and Mary Harris (n‚e Magrath), of Benares. The girls were raised in an atmosphere of upper middle class comfort. They were educated at home by governesses, and then were sent to Miss Dupont's School for Ladies in Toronto, where they stayed with their aunts throughout the week. As Annie and Naomi grew up, Benares was a frequent area for lawn tennis matches, weekend parties, and croquet games on the lawn. Both women took educational trips after school and visited either Europe or Western Canada. Annie would go on to marry Beverly Draper Sayers and reside in homes in Clarkson. Naomi, never married and remained at Benares until her death in 1968. |
