Description : A clear glass cylindrical bottle with a metal cap. The cap is red and white and is labelled with the words "Give colour and charm to all foods" around a picture of red cherries. A paper label at the top of the bottle says "Choice Quality Heavy Syrup". The label is white with blue and gold and has three cherries on the end of the label. The makers mark is embossed on the bottom and is an "A" under an H shape with curling ends with the number "14" below the "A".
Fonctions : These bottles and tines were found underneath the old summer kitchen at Jack Thorne's house in Lorne Park. his house was built in 1919 and these items date from then up until the 1930's. Jack found these artifacts while remodelling his house in 1973. The previous owner was a man named white who worked for the Toronto General Hospital as a radiologist. Jack Thorne was a long-time volunteer who passed away in 2000 after a short battle with Cancer. There is a bench located near Benares Historic House which his family had placed there for his love of the site.
