Description : | Large red coloured album with title "Postal Cards" imprinted in gold on the front cover. Dark red cover boards have a grainy texture to make them look like leather. Spine has broken away from the album. A 4 cm wide band of red book-binder's tape is glued to the front cover, from which the spine has broken away. Pages inside are black with three printed frames on each side with cut corners for inserting post cards of a single size not larger than 15 cm x 10 cm. |
Fonctions : | This item contains post cards belonging to Annie Harris (1882-1886) from her six month educational trip to Belgium, Holland, France, England, and Italy in 1903 where she celebrated her twenty-first birthday. As part of a 'Grand Tour', Annie was accompanied by Dora Labatt (family member of the Labatt Brewing Company), Edna Leonard, and Canadian artist Caroline Farncomb (1859-1951). Farncomb acted as their chaperone throughout the trip. |
