Commentaires : | Herbert Whittaker designed a 1977 production of THE RULES OF THE GAME, by Luigi Pirandello, presented at Hart House Theatre in Toronto. Herbert Whittaker (1910-2006) spent much of his life in the service of Canadian theatre. Beginning as a stage designer and director in Montreal, Whittaker became the theatre critic for The Globe and Mail from 1949-1975. He was the first national chairman of the Canadian Theatre Critics Association, founding chairman of the Toronto Drama Bench, an Officer to the Order of Canada, and founding chairman of Theatre Museum Canada. |
