Description : | This medal is on a green, navy, and orange cotton ribbon. Them medal is circular with a head facing left in profile and latin around the head. On teh back of the medal is Canada's coat of arms and the name of the medal. On the back of the ribbon is a piece of blue felt, two posts and two post backs. |

Fonctions : | Usually awarded to Canadians for 6 months service in Britain between 3 September 1939 and 8 May 1945. the exact terms were: -service in teh forces in non-operational areas subjected to air attacks or closely threatened, providing such service lasted for 3 or more years. -service overseas or outside the country of residence, providing that such service lasted for one year, except in territories threatened by teh enemy or subjected to bombattacks, in which case it was 6 months prior to 2 September 1945 -under terms of the previous condition Canadians serving for one year in Newfoundland were eligible and persons serving in Hong Kong for 6 months were also eligible -the qualifying period in mine and bomb disposal was 3 months -Canadians serving in West Africa, Palestine, and India, other than occupational air crew, qualified -those awarded GC or GM for civil defence recieved this medal -Home Guard and other Britians qualified for this medal |
