Commentaires : | The building was built at 150 Water Street, now known as Main Street. It started out as W. J. Kent & Company in 1884. In 1915 a fire gutted the store. During the renovations, a third floor was added making it one of the largest department stores in Eastern Canada. W. J. Kent & Company Limited was demolished in 1990 due to the need of very costly major renovations. In December, 2009, the Kent property was sold to the City of Bathurst. The tiles were obtained by Mayor Stephen Brunet of Bathurst prior to the demolition of the building. |
