Description : The test frame is made of cardboard with metal attachments on various parts of the frame that allow movement to measure the face and earpieces ensuring a personalized fit for the person being tested. The test frame also has a moveable part allowing for the vision to be blocked for each eye. Also in the kit is a strip of 14 plastic lenses with measurements from .25 to M200. There are two eye charts, one for distance and one for reading.
Commentaires : This kit came from the estate of Morley Roy and Hazel Smyth of 1994 Miramichi Avenue, Bathurst, New Brunswick. The kit informed the recipient that he/she could bring it to the homes of friends to let them use it. Extra order forms were provided. He/she was instructed to collect $1.00 from each person tested. The glasses would be shipped C.O.D. for the balance. The $1.00 was to be kept as "pay" for providing the test equipment and forwarding the orders. The cheapest glasses were $2.98, the most expensive were $4.98. Tinted glasses were $1.00 extra and bifocals were also $1.00 extra.
Fonctions : This kit is a home testing kit for eyeglasses. Testing allows for reading glasses and lenses for distance.
