Description : | Has sage green waistband and is gathered at back with a ruffle insert 10 inches from the bottom, three rows, two inches deep. The skirt is ruffled and silk lined with cotton. A 10" false overlay ends below ruffle. The back is longer than front, with hand sewing on the ruffles; otherwise it is machine stitched. A number 22 tag is found on the inside of lower skirt. |
Commentaires : | At one time this was part of a dress worn by Anna Swan. Skirt had been taken to Seville for their festivals. |
Fonctions : | Was owned and worn by Anna Swan, who was a Giantess born in the New Annan area. Family in New Annan donated the skirt to Ray Carruthers in the 1950's when the sunrise trail was formed. The skirt has travelled to Seville Ohio for festivals. |
