Commentaires : | HMCS Terra Nova is a St. Laurent class destroyer built by Victoria Machinery Depot, was commissioned on June 6, 1959 and a week later sailed for Halifax. She was based there until 1971, when she returned to Esquimalt. Like others of her class, she was rebuilt 1967-68, to accomodate ASCROC and VDS, and her DELUX refit was carried out in the year following November 1983. The ship returned to Halifax at the end of 1989. On August 24, 1990, hastily fitted with Harpoon missile launchers, Blowpipe missiles and a Phalanx gun, she sailed for the Persian Gulf. Terra Nova returned to Halifax on April 7, 1991. |
