Commentaires : | Sideboards were developed to display and store dinnerware in a dining room. They gained popularity in the 18th century but became widespread during the 19th century as people grew wealthy enough to have rooms specifically for dining in their homes. This example is original to the Riverside-Albert home of the Lt. Governor of New Brunswick from 1896 to 1902, Abner Reid McClelan. This house was built in 1893 and is now known as Victoria Manor. |
