Description : | Boy's dress. Off white cotton dress approximately 36cm from shoulder to bottom and approximately 40cm across the middle. The dress is short sleeved (8.5cm sleeve) and very sheer. The neck, sleeves, and bottom of the dress are edged with lace and the front of the dress has 7cm lace. There is an embroidered wreath pattern running the length of the dress. Each shoulder has six lines running from the back chest seam to the front chest seam. The back of the dress has a slit from the neck to the chest seam. On the left side of the slit are two holes and on the right side are two corresponding white shell buttons (two holed buttons). |
Commentaires : | At the time boys would wear dresses from birth until age four or five so they had freedom to play and run around. Once the boys were this age they would begin wearing "short pants". |
