| Description : | A circular dark blue tinted soda-lime (soda) glass two-piece metal mould (moulded glassware) bottle. The undersurface of the artifact's base exhibits a shallow concave basal profile, upon which 'W. T. CO.' and '2' both appear in embossed lettering. In addition, an Owen suction scar is also evident. From the abrupt heel, the body area of the item rises vertically to a rounded shoulder form. From here, a cylindrical neck extends upward to a prescription lip. This exhibits a circular bore. The majority of the body area of the item has been decorated with a pattern of embossed lines which form diamond shaped designs. The top and bottom points of each design exhibits an embossed diamond shaped decoration. Note: Blue colouration is due to the presence of either copper or cobalt in the glass. Prescription lips can be found on medicine bottles of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. |
