Description : | A square cut glass decanter and its glass stopper. It has a top width of 10.2 cm. and a base length and width of 18.3 cm. Without the stopper, the decanter is 19.5 cm. high. The undersurface of the artifact's base exhibits a shallow depression, while each of the four edges of the main body area exhibits a series of horizontal serations. Each side of the main body area exhibits a large incised 'star burst' design, ase well as an incised design at each of its corners. The upper portion of the artifact exhibits an arched dome-like shoulder area, from which there extends a four sided neck region. Each edge of theis neck exhibits a series of horizontal serations. The neck concludes in an oval shaped spout, and this in turn is connected to the shoulder area by means of a curved handle. Artifact . It consists of a base portion (dia. 1.8 cm.), above which is a roughly hourglass shaped section. The upper portion of the stopper is square in shape, having a length and a width of 2.8 cm. Overall height is 7.7 cm. Each of the sides of the upper area exhibits an incised 'starburst' design, while each of the four edges exhibits a series of horizontal serations. The top of the stopper also exhibits an incised 'starburst' design. |
