Description : | A hand sewn white net slip with bodice of two layers of fine net and shirt of small - hole net. Bodice is of one piece folded over with a hole in centre to go over head. Hole is rounded at backwith squared front. Both sides of material are sewn leaving an opening at tops for armholes. These openings and neck are edged with a scalloped 1.5 cm. wide lace. Two strips of 14.0 cm.wide scalloped net lace are attatched to bodice starting at front base 5.0cm. from centre, going straight up and over each shoulder at edge of neckline and down back to 3.0 cm. from centre base bodice. Bodice extends to hips where a skirt 72.0 cm. long with a scalloped boarder of embroidery ( net lace ) similar to that on bodice. Skirt has a 310.0 cm. circumference and is of one piece with seamdown one side. Side seams of bodice are finished. Seams at waist and side of skirt are over cast. Large lace on bodice is attatched with a running stitch. Lace at neck and armholes is attatched with an overcast stitch. |
