| Description : | A white linen camisole with a five-self-covered button front closure, square neckline, short sleeves and waist length bodice gathered onto a peplum. Right front is self faced with handmade buttonholes with a verticle row of featherstitch to left and right ofbuttonholes. To right of this is three verticle tucks. Back is of one piece with four tucks two on each side of and facing centreback. Left front is self faced and has three tucks near centre front facing centre. Buttons are cloth covered rings. Side and shoulder seams are flat felt. Sleeves are short and cut in one piece with hand sewn flat felt seam to front of underarm. Large square neckline is made smaller with a crocheted square neckline yoke insert with larger holes near outer edge for tie. Larger neckline is faced to surface and decorated with featherstitch. Sleeves are hemmed by hand and edged with the same crocheted border, and a row of featherstitch embroidery. Base of bodice is gathered onto a 10cm peplum of two piece contruction with hand sewn flat felt seam, at centre back. Peplum has a tiny hem. The join of bodice to peplum is faced on the outside and the inside with strips of linen, with seams at centre back. Crocheted yoke torn at top front edges both sides, and stained all sides, and stained all the way around. Brown stain at second buttonhole from top and bottom buttonhole. Large mend under right arm. Small stains at half way on righ side seam, and on right back near waist. Tear at neck above this. Stains at upper centre back. Stains on back of left sleeve and over cap. Grey and yellow marks on upper left front. Button missing at waist. PH1 2006 Ph2 2007 |
