Description : The first parliament buildings in Victoria. Six men are posed on the front stairs. Most of the image contains the main building showing much of the decorative detail including a cupola. The image is mounted on a beige cardboard which is deteriorating (foxing, yellowing.) Top centre has '2A' (circled) in blue pen and a '6' appears in the top right in black felt pen on the cardboard. On the reverse are the following notations, on the top from left to right: '86 - A' in black felt pen 'H. B.' in red felt pen '1860's Government buildings. Victoria called the Bird Cage' in blue pen. '28' in pencil and crossed out with black felt pen. '6' in black felt pen and crossed out with black felt pen. 'B 203' in black felt pen crossed out with black felt pen. '43' appears in the lower left in pencil.
