View of Wells townsite from just above and north east of the hospital. The large house in the middle foreground was said by Louise Gilbert to have been built by Hub King (barrister). The hillside was completely forested according to Louise as her family harvested trees from there to heat their home. Note that the Wells Apartments - or, the married quarters have flat roofs and that the one (in 1998) facing the Lowhee is not present. |
