Signification iconographique : | Eric Edwards student at U of A 1916. Served in U of A Cadets. Enlisted March 16, 1916 with 196th (Western Universities) Battalion. Goes overseas November, 1916. Serves in France after November 1917 in 1st Canadian Mounted Rifles. Awarded Good Conduct Badge March 25, 1918. At time of Armistice part of regimental band. Discharged March 24, 1919 at Brandon, Manitoba with rank of private. Re-enrols in U of A 1919. Joins 1st Battalion Calgary Highlanders 1927-1942. Promoted to Major 1938. In charge of Calgary depot 1939. Serves in Second World War with 2nd Battalion, Edmonton Fusiliers 1942-1946. Service No. 911342. Awarded BWM, VM, CVSM, 1939-45 Medal, Long Service Medal. |
