| Description : | The object is made from canvas and trimmed with semitanned leather. It is a folded bodice that covers the front and back of the upper body. The sleeves are not complete, and there are fastening tabs under them. The sides are also secured in this manner. The beadwork is applied on canvas and the trim is sewn to it. The colors of the beadwork are blue, red, pink, green, orange, yellow and white. The white is the background colour and the designs are modified floral and geometric patterns. The insignia of the 191st Battalion, with crossed flags and the Victoria Cross are the main features of the beaded designs. The border area is a blue background with a red square zig zag running across the sleeves, and there are chevrons running across the shoulder. |
