Description : Sword with straight steel blade has a flat back which tapers away with the last 14.3 cm double-edged; first 12 inch section of blade is blued and decorated with gold coloured line engravings; 2.8 cm wide below hilt tapering to a spear point; hand guard is of gilt brass with two kidney-shaped shells; grip is wood bound with twisted silver wire; scabbard (B): black leather with metal band and locket each with a loose ring at edge; locket has a frog stud, or catch, on side for the sword to be suspended from a crossbelt; the chape at the tip end of the scabbard is missing.
