Description : | Wooden framed magic-lantern slide. 3 glass plates set into mitred walnut ? frame. All 3 glass plates have hand coloured ? images surrounded by black paint. Top and bottom plates held in place with finishing nails top and bottom. Far right of top plate has leather tab glued to glass. Bottom plate has leather tab glued to glass on far left. Top plate has image of 2 clown faces. Central figure has smiling face with red and white makeup wearing yellow and green head piece. Figure to left is frightened face with red and white makeup and green and red demon riding on top of head. Middle plate contains image of clown arms, legs and trunk in red, yellow, green and white. Bottom plate has 2 red dots that are the demon's eye. |
